研究摘要

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is also expressed in non-immune cells. Dr. Qi’s laboratory currently aims to identify and test the role of MIF family proteins, including MIF and D-dopachrome tautomerase (DDT) in the development of metabolic dysfunction; and their roles in myocardial reperfusion injury associated with metabolic abnormalities. His lab uses molecular and cellular biological techniques combining with in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models, such as isolated primary cells, the mouse Langendorff heart perfusion setup and ligation of the LAD (left anterior descending coronary artery) in the intact mice.
